The Comorian National Social Security Fund (CNSS) is a system that assists workers and residents in Comoros financially in retirement, sickness, maternity, work injury, or unemployment.

Annual Paid Leave
Employees in the Comoros are entitled to 24 days of paid annual leave, or 2.5 days per month worked.
This may increase by an additional 3 days of leave if an employee has worked for the same company for over 15 years, if they are a female head of household, or if they are under the age of 18.
Working Hours
The normal working week in the Comoros is 40 hours, which is usually split between 5 or 6 working days.
Hours worked over the set 40 hours count as overtime and must be paid accordingly.
Overtime Pay
If an employee works overtime, they must be paid as per the relevant collective agreements or as stipulated in the employment contract.
Typically, overtime is paid at the rate of 115% of an employee’s normal wage for the initial 8 hours worked, 130% for the second 8 hours, and 140% for any further hours worked.
Employees are restricted from working more than 60 hours of overtime per month. If overtime is carried out on a Sunday or public holiday, employees are usually paid at 140% of their normal wages.

Female employees are entitled to take 14 weeks of maternity leave if they have a baby, with 6 weeks being taken postpartum. Maternity leave is primarily funded by the CNSS.
Paternity Leave
There is no statutory right to paternity leave in Comoros; however, some companies choose to offer this as a supplementary benefit.
Pensions
The pension system in Comoros is funded by a pay-as-you-go system managed by the CNSS. The contribution rates are as follows:
