It’s based around ADP’s cloud-based online human resources information system (HRIS) that stores all employee data in one place and automates many HR processes. Each client is also supported by a team of experts, and a dedicated assistant called an HR business partner. Paychex is an American company founded in 1971 and currently based in New York. It works as a PEO in the US but also provides HR services in Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Norway, and Sweden. With this international spread, it works with nearly 750,000 client organizations worldwide and posted revenues in excess of $5 billion in 2024.
Paychex is also built around an online, cloud-based platform, Paychex Flex, that enables employers to manage their HR functions in a single place. Paychex covers HR admin, payroll, time and attendance, and benefits administration through different tiered service packages. Paychex includes some recruitment consultation and assistance, while ADP integrates with ZipRecruiter to let clients post to job boards. Payroll Management: Paychex Wins
Both platforms focus on compliance and are very good for generating payslips and automatically calculating taxes. However, ADP TotalSource only provides payroll services as part of its PEO offering, while Paychex has three tiers of payroll services independent of its PEO services. This gives clients more flexibility in choosing the services they need.
