Allegis Group Company Overview

Allegis Group is one of the world’s largest talent management firms. Headquartered in Mayland since its founding in 1983, this company has grown into a serious contender on the world stage. With over 19,000 employees of its own, Allegis works with tens of thousands of clients and places hundreds of thousands of workers annually. It provides staffing, recruiting, search, consulting, workforce management, and managed delivery services to a wide range of customers both in the US and abroad.

Rather than working under a single name and system, Allegis Group has divided its service provision by industry. This lets each of its subsidiaries focus on a different industry or type of talent management. Its brands work across science and engineering, industry and manufacturing, legal and governance, marketing and sales, information technology, and professional services. They also focus on search services to fill professional and executive positions, as well as connecting employers with underrepresented groups.

This is an incredibly broad service offering, so we’ll look at each of these different brands individually to help distinguish them. This should help you decide which, if any, of Allegis Group’s brands might make the best partner for your organization.

How Allegis Group Works

Over 40 years ago, Allegis Group began as Aerotek, a single engineering and aerospace-focused company. While this brand still exists, Allegis Group has acquired many other companies and established over a hundred subsidiaries worldwide under different brands. Each brand is designed to occupy a single niche and provide specific services or work with a few select types of industries. This has made Allegis a company with services that can fit the needs of almost any company regardless of its size and focus. In this review, we’ll focus on those subsidiaries that relate to talent sourcing, management, and consultation.

Actalent

Actalent is Allegis Group’s service provider for science and engineering services and staffing. It provides engineering—clinical, and lab services as well as project management for its clients. Key Features

  • Contract staffing solutions: Actalent helps clients find the crucial science and engineering staff they require for their specific purposes. It also helps to onboard new staff and deliver performance reviews over the long term. Actalent helps businesses specifically hire consultants who can bring in expert skills and knowledge to build value for its clients.
  • Engineering services: While not specifically related to staffing, these services represent an alternative to bringing in contracted staff. Instead, businesses can outsource their engineering needs to professional teams who can design equipment, set up systems, analyze designs and industrial processes, build software, and perform modeling. This can help them save on the costs of hiring staff, especially for shorter projects.
  • Project management: Actalent employs professional project and safety managers who can be contracted to manage specific projects for science, technology, and engineering firms. They can help to develop strategies, perform assessments, and develop governance plans. They’re also able to manage schedules, costs, risk mitigation, performance, and reporting for these projects.
  • Specific industries: This brand has a specific focus on the following industries: aerospace, construction, consumer products, defense, industrial products, life sciences, semiconductors, transportation, and utilities.

Allegis Group Customer Reviews

The average scores (as of the time of writing) were:

Allegis Group Pricing

Like many competitors, Allegis Group chooses not to post its fees online. This holds true for all of its brands, all of which invite potential customers to chat with sales teams to assess their needs and receive tailored quotes. This consultation may be useful because these teams can suggest additional services that clients may not have realized existed. However, it also takes time and makes it difficult to efficiently compare this provider’s services to those of the competition.

Allegis Group Pros and Cons

Like any service provider, Allegis Group and its subsidiaries have a unique set of services and methodologies that they provide. This creates a specific set of advantages and disadvantages for them, including:

Industry-specific services

Rather than trying to handle all of its many services under one brand, Allegis Group has divided itself up into different brands that each target a specific set of industries or needs. This focuses its professional expertise into narrower areas for the benefit of its clients.

Focus on technology

Through both its multiple platforms and its training and consulting programs, Allegis Group puts a strong focus on AI-powered applications and digital tools. It seems well-positioned to lead its clients to work on the cutting-edge of technology.

Diversity

Specifically through CareerCircle but also across many of its other brands, this company places a strong emphasis on DEI and helps minority groups connect to employers that see their value.

No pricing online

None of Allegis Group’s subsidiaries post their fee structures online or even starting prices online. This makes it hard to estimate the prices for specific services and compare with other providers.

No international employment support

While some brands work internationally and support recruitment on different continents, none support cross-border hiring and management of employees and contractors.

Allegis Group Unique Selling Point

Allegis Group’s unique selling point is its vast range of services divided up into different brand responsibilities. By narrowing the focus of each subsidiary, Allegis Group cleverly divides the market and specializes in different areas, allowing it to compete for the needs of a wide variety of client organizations.

Overall Assessment: Allegis Group

Allegis Group is a massive company, but each of its many brands has divided its service provision up into manageable parts. In this way, it can offer its consulting and talent-sourcing solutions to companies of all sizes. Without its pricing, it’s difficult to compare Allegis Group’s service offerings to those of its competitors. However, it has a truly extensive range of services, a huge pool of talent, and a global reach that make it a strong competitor in the workforce services industry.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, not specifically. Allegis Group’s brands don’t run payroll as a specialized service. However, some of them manage worker payroll as a necessary part of providing temporary staffing solutions to their clients.

No, it doesn’t. While its subsidiary brands, particularly Allegis Global Solutions, can help with recruitment around the world, this company doesn’t help clients employ workers in countries where they don’t own entities like an Employer of Record can.
