One Digital Resourcing Edge (Resourcing Edge) is a popular US Professional Employer Organization (PEO) providing cost-efficient co-employment solutions for small to medium-sized businesses.
One Digital Resourcing Edge Company Overview
One Digital Resourcing Edge is a consulting and human capital management company based in Rockwall, Texas. It was founded in 2003 with the goal of helping companies with their HR and payroll administration. This company was acquired in 2022 by Digital Insurance LLC, also known as OneDigital, an insurance brokerage, financial services, and HR consulting firm with over 100,000 clients and offices across the US. This provider is still small, with just over 150 employees, but it operates and competes in all 50 states across the US and handles more than 65,000 client employees.
Through its PEO (Professional Employment Organization) and recruiting services, Resourcing Edge helps businesses find and manage their employees successfully. Its workforce solutions are centered around a cloud-based online platform that clients can use to manage all of their HR functions. This platform operates as an HR management system (HRMS) and allows organizations to centralize their employees’ information in one source of truth. Resourcing Edge doesn’t post its prices online but instead requires potential clients to contact its sales department for tailored quotes.
In this review, I’ll take a deep look into Resourcing Edge’s services, how it provides them, and whether it would be the right choice for your HR services partner.
Resourcing Edge Key Features
As a human capital management service provider, Recruiting Edge provides services that can benefit organizations of all types and sizes. The key features of its service provision include:
1. Industry Focus
Most PEOs and recruiters won’t turn down a client in any industry. At the same time, they have their specialties and experience with certain industries over others. With a focus on these specific industries and areas, they can more effectively provide recruitment and human capital management services for their clients. Resourcing Edge offers a broad range of industries it’s specialized in, including:
- Automotive
- Construction
- Health care: assisted living, emergency and urgent care, health care practitioners, home health, general health care
- HVAC/Home repairs
- Leisure and hospitality: accommodations, entertainment, restaurants
- Manufacturing
- Professional and business services: accounting, banking and finance, consulting, financial services, not-for-profit, legal, real estate
- Oil and gas
- Retail
- Technology
Clients working in these industries can leverage Resourcing Edge’s industry experience, networks, and knowledge to both recruit quality talent quickly and manage their teams effectively.
2. PEO Services
As a Professional Employment Organization (PEO), Resourcing Edge acts as a managed services provider helping to support its clients by taking over some of their HR functions. It acts as a co-employer in this relationship: The client remains the legal employer and manages employees’ everyday tasks and schedules. Resourcing Edge manages HR administration and payroll functions. This is an ideal setup for small businesses and startups that don’t have the staff numbers or resources to support their own HR departments. It’s also a useful solution for businesses that want their employees to receive professional, expertly delivered services that they can outsource for cost-efficiency.
Resourcing Edge is accredited by both the Employer Services Assurance Corporation (ESAC) and the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO). It’s also one of a limited number of PEOs certified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS CPEO). These accreditations demonstrate a level of professionalism and financial accountability not found in all PEOs.
This organization’s PEO service includes the following elements:
Time and attendance
Resourcing Edge’s platform includes a built-in time and attendance function that allows employees to conveniently clock in and out online. It also has location-based tracking to follow remote employees. This system can be set up to read biometric data, barcodes, or keycodes. Employers can enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) to ensure accuracy, and the system can store clocked data even when used offline. This time and attendance tracking is very convenient because it allows employers to collect data right into the Resourcing Edge platform instead of having to share data from an external application.
Payroll
One of the biggest time-and-labor-saving features of Resourcing Edge’s service is outsourced payroll. By performing this function for its clients, the provider takes the pressure off of SMBs that may not have the people or expertise to run complicated payroll activities compliantly on their own.
Payroll starts with the time and attendance data collected directly by Resourcing Edge’s online system. With all employees registered in this system, it can use this data to run quick calculations to figure out each employee’s gross salary, taxes, benefits deductions, garnishments (if any), and net salary. Once the system has performed these automatic calculations for a given pay period, the payroll is typically passed on to the client for review and approval. If everything is in order, Resourcing Edge runs the payroll and manages payments. It’s flexible enough to pay employees through direct deposits, live checks, or even paycards depending on their preferences.
This system also offers online data management and reporting features. Employees are able to access the system to see their detailed payslips. Employers/administrators can access detailed, real-time reports and even connect payroll data to their general ledgers through the platform. Resourcing Edge also handles tax administration and reporting, filing quarterly and annual filings on behalf of its clients and generating W-2 forms for all employees.
Benefits Administration
Another crucial part of Resourcing Edge’s PEO offering is its benefits administration service. Remember that this service provider is owned by insurance brokerage OneDigital and through this connection, it’s able to offer a wide range of benefits options for clients to then put forward to their employees. These plans include major medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term and short-term disability insurance as well as wellness programs, 401(k) retirement savings plans, health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), and employee assistance programs (EAPs).
Resourcing Edge not only connects clients with these benefits options but also handles their administration over the long term. It processes all employee enrollments and terminations, supports employee claims, and handles premium payment and reconciliation. It manages Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) notification and recordkeeping and ensures benefits are in compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The PEO also maintains an employee service center where employees can direct their questions and concerns.
Risk Management and Compliance
The Resourcing Edge team helps clients to identify and minimize risks in their operations and to manage compliance with all applicable tax and labor laws. It performs risk assessments, on-site loss control assessments, and reviews of insurance claims to help protect and develop its clients. It provides up to $3 million in employment practices liability insurance (EPLI) and fully insured “pay-as-you-go” workers’ compensation coverage. It also provides claims advocacy and reporting at both federal and state levels.
On the safety side, Resourcing Edge will perform on-site hazard assessments and safety reviews. It also offers online safety training courses to help its clients maintain compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules.
HR Services
Resourcing Edge offers an extensive range of human resources services that can help to increase the efficiency of clients’ HR departments or replace them altogether. Most of these services are included in the provider’s core PEO offering, though some are additional add-ons. They include:
- Compensation analysis
- Consulting on employee relations
- Development of employee handbooks
- Development of job descriptions
- Unemployment claims management
- Hiring and termination assistance
- Management of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) claims
- New-hire reporting
- Paid time off (PTO) policy design and administration
- Performance management system (add-on)
3. Consulting
While its main role is as a PEO provider, Resourcing Edge also takes on consulting roles according to the needs of its clients. It consults with them in the areas we’ve already seen – payroll, benefits, risk management and compliance, and HR – bringing its expertise to clients that choose to manage their own functions.
4. Recruitment
Unlike many competitors in the human capital management/HR field, Resourcing Edge actually does provide recruitment services. It focuses on direct hire recruiting, however, and doesn’t have any options for temporary staffing or staff leasing. It also focuses entirely on recruiting in the cities and states where its clients need employees and doesn’t include any international services.
This provider starts its recruiting process by consulting with the client to find out precisely what is needed in terms of roles, number of people needed, and skills and qualifications required for each job. With this information on board, Resourcing Edge sets out to attract applicants both from its own networks and through public job advertisements. It screens applicants and presents the client with a short list of candidates it feels are appropriate to be interviewed. Once successful candidates are selected, it helps to onboard them to its system.
Clients can also take advantage of a completely outsourced option – RPO or recruitment process outsourcing. With this service, the provider takes over full responsibility for locating, assessing, and selecting all the workers a client needs in a pre-defined period of time.
5. Platform
Resourcing Edge’s PEO services are centered around its online, cloud-based platform. Like many competitors, this provider helps to centralize clients’ data and employee management tasks through a human resources information system (HRIS). This software helps employers manage their employees’ important data, and Resourcing Edge manages payroll and benefits by automating many related functions.
Resourcing Edge 360 (re360) allows employees to log in and access their payroll and benefits information. It helps them select and enroll in benefits, arrange direct deposit information, and view W-2s and payslips. It also gives employees and employers access to around 8000 e-learning courses and monthly webinars on HR-related topics.
Resourcing Edge’s platform follows SOC1 controls and has a comprehensive privacy policy in place to protect client and employee data. At the same time, this provider was the victim of a data breach in 2022, though it has updated its security protocols since then.

Resourcing Edge Pros and Cons
- Pros
Complete PEO services
Resourcing Edge completely handles payroll, onboarding, benefits, HR administration, and compliance for its PEO clients.
Active recruitment
Unlike many competitors, Resourcing Edge provides recruitment services for direct hiring. It can do this by working with the client or by taking over the entire process through an RPO model.
Time & attendance
Many other providers require employers to use an external program to track time and attendance. However, this provider has these features built into its platform so no time or information is lost through data transfers.
- Cons
Fees not posted online
Few PEO service providers openly publish their prices and Resourcing Edge also keeps its price structure hidden. While potential clients can contact the provider and ask for tailored quotes, this takes time and makes it more difficult to compare this company with other service providers.
No international hiring support
While it can help employers hire in all 50 states in the US, Resourcing Edge doesn’t provide any international hiring support or Employer of Record (EOR) services.
No mobile app
This provider has yet to develop an app that would help employees and employers access its platform more conveniently.
Resourcing Edge Unique Selling Point (USP)
Resourcing Edge’s unique selling point is its recruiting service, which, when combined with its PEO service, makes it stand out from the competition. While most PEOs don’t also recruit, Resourcing Edge focuses on helping its clients find the talent they need either through a collaborative process or through outsourcing to the recruitment process.
